The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit recently affirmed a jury verdict in favor of Firm client Flair Corporation, a subsidiary of SPX Corporation, in an employment discrimination lawsuit brought by a number of Flair employees under Title VII.  In its decision, the Eleventh Circuit agreed with Jenner & Block's arguments that Flair's explanations for its challenged employment decisions were legitimate and non-discriminatory.

In September 2002, a Jenner & Block trial team won the initial jury verdict in Flair's favor, with the jury rejecting plaintiffs' claims that some employees were treated differently with respect to promotion and compensation decisions on account of the employees’ race.

Jenner & Block’s Litigation and Appellate and Supreme Court Practice Groups worked together on this matter, with Partners Paul M. Smith and Daniel J. Winters, and Associate Steven J. Pearlman, defending the client's trial victory.
