The most recent issue of Corporate Legal Times listed the 25 law firms that are best poised to orchestrate this year’s largest corporate deals, based on which firms had highest total transactional value of all M & A work in 2003. Among the top firms was Jenner & Block, which served as lead counsel in M & A transactions totaling $9,838,891,296 in 2003, according to the magazine.
Although there is no particular “hot” industry sector that is driving the revival of deal work, the article stressed that industry analysts expect 2004 to be a “good one for M & A attorneys” across the board.
According to Robert S. Osborne, Chair of the Firm’s Corporate Practice, Jenner & Block is well positioned to play a leading role in the current business climate that favors corporate development through major acquisitions or other transactions. “We built a great foundation in 2003 with significant transactions for several major companies,” he said. “It’s an exciting time to be a corporate attorney at Jenner & Block.”
The rankings were based on data compiled by Global Securities Information, Inc. (GSI) earlier in the year.
