Jenner & Block Partner Eric A. Sacks was recently named to the Law Bulletin Publishing Company’s list of “40 Illinois Attorneys Under Forty to Watch,” which hailed him as “one of the top business litigation and antitrust lawyers in the city” and praised his work on behalf of leading companies like SPX Corporation and Commonwealth Edison.

The annual list honors 40 Illinois attorneys who display “intelligence, passion and a track record of success, a desire to help the community and willingness to work hard.”

Spencer Conard, general patent counsel for SPX, described Mr. Sacks’s legal skills in the article as “a key ingredient” to several “huge wins” for SPX Corporation, including a $44 million damage award in a patent infringement dispute.

Darryl Bradford, General Counsel of Commonwealth Edison called Mr. Sacks “ComEd’s lead outside counsel for antitrust matters.”  And, Paul Whitcombe, the Lee County State’s Attorney, complimented Mr. Sacks for being “quite simply, the smartest and most dedicated attorney” he knows.

The profile also highlighted Mr. Sacks’s pro bono work, including his representation of a client who was threatened with being removed from his condominium residence because he had Tourette’s Syndrome.  In addition, the editors noted that Mr. Sacks is an active board member of the Public Interest Law Initiative (PILI).
