Jenner & Block

LCBH Honors Partner, Firm for Efforts in Housing Justice

The Lawyers’ Committee for Better Housing (LCBH) recently honored Partner Patricia A. Bronte with its Founders’ Award, and Jenner & Block with its Outstanding Friend of LCBH Award, for “unwavering commitment to the pro bono representation of the poor” in housing-related matters.

Ms. Bronte has helped the LCBH for 20 years, beginning with an internship at the organization while she was in law school.  Ms. Bronte later served as both vice president and president of the organization’s Board of Directors, as well as its legal director and acting executive director.  She currently serves on the LCBH Advisory Council.

“Every time I look at this award, I’ll remember the lessons I’ve learned through the LCBH,” said Ms. Bronte at the awards ceremony.  The most important lesson, she added, is that “you can make a difference, especially when you connect with other people who care.”

Managing Partner Gregory S. Gallopoulos accepted the Outstanding Friend of LCBH Award on behalf of the Firm, which was presented by LCBH Equal Justice Fellow Cecilia Abundis.  “Jenner & Block has been involved in our work at every level, every year,” said Ms. Abundis, noting that many of the Firm’s attorneys have served as Board members and volunteers in the various LCBH programs.

“We accept this award with tremendous pride because it represents a core value at Jenner & Block – our attorneys’ dedication to pro bono service,” said Mr. Gallopoulos.

Partner Donald S. Horvath also represented the Firm at the organization’s 25th anniversary reception and awards ceremony.  He currently serves on the LCBH Board of Directors.

LCBH is a public interest law firm that promotes the availability of and access to safe, decent, and affordable housing in Metropolitan Chicago.  The organization provides legal representation, individual and public advocacy, supportive services, education, and innovative programming to nearly 3,000 tenants each year on issues related to their housing.
