Paul F. Jock, II Joins Jenner & Block as Partner

Paul F. Jock, II has joined Jenner & Block as a Partner in the Firm’s Corporate Practice, continuing a long and distinguished career as a corporate executive and private practitioner.

Mr. Jock has been Senior Vice President and General Counsel as well as a Director and member of the Executive Committee of General Motors Asset Management, an investment advisory firm with over $100 billion in assets under management. Mr. Jock has also been a member of that firm’s private equity, real estate and absolute return strategies investment approval committees. In addition to counseling the firm with respect to federal securities law, general corporate and related matters, his practice has included the structuring, formation and documentation of complex investment and joint venture transactions.

Prior to joining General Motors Asset Management in 2000 and for nearly 25 years, Mr. Jock was a Partner of Kirkland & Ellis. His corporate and securities law practice included representation of pooled investment funds and their managers, as well as issuers and underwriters in public and private financings and acquirers and targets in mergers and acquisitions. In this regard, he advised both investors in and sponsors of venture capital and other private equity and private real estate investment vehicles. He counseled open and closed-end registered investment companies and their boards of directors, registered and unregistered investment advisory firms and employee benefit plans on securities, general corporate and other legal matters.

Mr. Jock received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame, cum laude, and his juris doctorate from The University of Chicago Law School, where he was associate editor of The University of Chicago Law Review.
