Jenner & Block

Firm Recognized by Association of American Rhodes Scholars for Pro Bono Assistance

Jenner & Block was recently honored by the Association of American Rhodes Scholars when its Board of Directors unanimously passed a resolution acknowledging the Firm's pro bono work on behalf of the AARS.

Partner Tobias L. Knapp, Associate Peter H. Rosenbaum and Legal Assistant Michael Lee Whitchurch assisted the AARS in a review of its governance and organizational status and in its conversion from an unincorporated association to a not-for-profit non-stock corporation. Partner Steven R. Meier provided tax assistance. The Jenner & Block team conducted extensive legal research and implemented the AARS' change in status and other reforms.

"The Association is very grateful for their dedication to and competent execution of this important work," the resolution stated.

Founded in 1907, the Association of American Rhodes Scholars is a U.S.-based organization that supports the administration of Rhodes Scholarships allotted to the United States, promotes educational initiatives and fosters intellectual and social fellowship among the people of many countries.
