Jenner & Block was recently recognized for its exemplary “commitment to access to justice” by The National Law Journal. Jenner & Block was among only four firms recognized in the newspaper's annual Pro Bono Awards special issue.
The Firm’s profile in the NLJ focused on the work of Lindsay Harrison and the Jenner & Block team in the landmark immigration law case, Nken v. Holder. The Nken team achieved a groundbreaking 7-2 victory before the Supreme Court, potentially saving their client’s life and broadly impacting the lives of thousands of vulnerable individuals fleeing persecution and seeking asylum in the United States. The NLJ Pro Bono Awards are bestowed annually upon “lawyers doing exemplary work upholding the principle that justice shouldn't be contingent on one's ability to pay.” According to the publication, they “looked for firms that contributed substantial time and money to the cause and gave bonus points if the lawyers risked opprobrium by standing up for unpopular people and causes.”
