Jenner & Block mourns the untimely death of our esteemed colleague and friend Partner Arnold S. Harrison on March 16, 2010.
Managing Partner Susan C. Levy said “We are all deeply saddened by the death of Arnie Harrison. Arnie was a great friend, colleague and mentor and an extremely valuable member of Jenner & Block. He will be enormously missed, both professionally and personally, by all of us.”
Arnie had a remarkable career and was recognized for his legal acumen and principled representation of his clients. Arnie was the Chair of the Firm’s Real Estate Securities Practice, Co-Chair of the Tax and Tax Controversy Practices, Co-Chair of the Tenant-in-Common Workout Task Force, and a past member of the Firm’s Management Committee. He was the recipient of the 2008 Tenant in Common Association ACE (A Champion of Excellence) Award for highest ethical standards and contribution to the tenant-in-common industry and was recognized as a “Leading Lawyer” in Real Estate Law and Business Tax Law by his peers in surveys conducted by Law Bulletin Publishing Company. He was named an “Illinois Super Lawyer” in Tax every year since the award’s inception in 2005 and was also included in Who’s Who Legal: Illinois in the “Corporate Tax” area. In addition to his legal practice, Arnie was an adjunct professor in the masters of law program at DePaul Law School, an instructor in the DePaul University CPA Review Course, and an Assisting Practitioner in the Graduate Tax Program at the Northwestern University School of Law. Always generous with his time, intellect and talent, he was also a prolific writer and much sought-after speaker on a variety of tax matters.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this time of great loss.
