Susan J. Kohlmann has joined Jenner & Block’s New York office as a Partner in the Firm’s Litigation Department. She brings to the Firm nearly 25 years of experience in complex litigation matters involving, among other things, copyright, trademark, and trade secret disputes.
Most recently the Chair of the Intellectual Property Department of the New York office of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, Ms. Kohlmann has litigated a broad array of high profile disputes, including that involving world-renowned artist Andy Warhol's estate. She has also represented Sharp Electronics Corporation and many other corporations in various class action and other matters. In addition, Ms. Kohlmann has counseled many other large corporations on a variety of intellectual property and e-commerce matters, such as content licensing, software licensing, and technology development.

Ms. Kohlmann serves as Co-Chair of the New York City Bar’s Committee to Enhance Diversity, and is also a member of the Boards of Legal Momentum and Volunteers of Legal Services, Inc. She is also a former Member of the Executive Committee of the New York City Bar, and has received recognition as a New York Super Lawyer in 2006 in Intellectual Property Litigation. Ms. Kohlmann was named among Outstanding Women of the Bar by the New York County Lawyers Association in 2004.
Ms. Kohlmann received her law degree from the Columbia University School of Law in 1982, where she served as Casenote and Comment Editor for the Columbia Journal of Transnational Law. She also received her B.A. from Yale University in 1979.
