Jenner & Block participated in the first annual Hike for Lung Health to raise funds for the Respiratory Health Association of Metropolitan Chicago (RHAMC). The hike began at Chicago’s Montrose Harbor on September 23 and continued for three miles along the lakefront.
Proceeds from the Hike for Lung Health will help the organization’s mission to promote healthy lungs and fight lung disease through research, advocacy and education.
“This was a great event for a great cause,” said Jenner & Block Partner and RHAMC Board Member Barry Levenstam, who led the Firm’s team at the hike. “The RHAMC battles against lung disease in all its forms, including lung cancer, which claims more lives in this country than any other form of cancer; and all forms of chronic pulmonary obstructive disease including emphysema and asthma.” According to Mr. Levenstam, the team has collected over $4,000 for lung health to date.
While RHAMC’s primary focus is on the Greater Chicago Metropolitan Area, its substantial advocacy and research activities help people throughout Illinois and all across the nation.
In addition to Mr. Levenstam, the Firm’s Hike for Lung Health team included Legal Secretaries Christine M. Titone and Susan A. Galler; Mr. Levenstam’s daughter, Sarah Levenstam, and her friends Andrew Krentz, Alex Yant, and Sally Hayes.
