The National Association of Women Lawyers (NAWL) recently held a networking skills development program at Jenner & Block’s Chicago office that was attended by dozens of women lawyers, accountants and business executives.

The program, which was Co-Chaired by Jenner & Block Partner Michelle M. McAtee, focused on helping participants to hone their networking skills, foster stronger relationships, nurture existing ones, and to learn how to make networking a disciplined practice instead of a reactive process.  Participants also learned how to craft a personalized “elevator pitch” as well as about the relationship between networking and business development.

Susan Sneider, author of A Lawyer’s Guide to Networking and Gary Pines, business development trainer and coach, were the keynote speakers at the event.

In addition to Jenner & Block, co-sponsors of the event included the Black Women Lawyers Association; Winston & Strawn; McDermott Will & Emery, LLP; Baker & McKenzie, LLP; the Chicago Bar Association Alliance for Women; and the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois.
