For the sixth year in a row, Jenner & Block attorneys and staff members from the Firm's Chicago office ascended the 94 floors of the John Hancock Center as part of the annual “Hustle Up the Hancock.” This year marked the 11th anniversary of the popular fundraising event, which helps the Respiratory Health Association of Metropolitan Chicago (RHAMC) raise funds for lung research, advocacy and education.
With 35 members climbing, the Firm's Team was the fifth largest team to participate in the event and it has raised more than $22,000 in donations to date, placing it fourth among teams in total collections. RHAMC will use those funds to make a difference in the lives of thousands of people in metropolitan Chicago who suffer from lung diseases such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and lung cancer.
The Jenner & Block Team finished 5th in climb time, out of almost 200 teams, based on each team's five fastest climbers. The Firm's team included partners, associates, staff members, project assistants and secretaries.
“I appreciate the efforts of all the employees, family and friends who participated to support such a worthy cause,” said Partner Barry Levenstam, who led the Firm’s participation in the climb and is also a member of the RHAMC Board of Directors.
