Partner Matthew Haws Offers Post-Pandemic Advice for Government Contractors

Jenner & Block Partner Matthew L. Haws joined a Federal News Network radio show titled Federal Drive with Tom Temin to discuss how changes by the government, and events such as the COVID-19 pandemic, can cause a project to get off schedule. He examined software systems that provide data and other tools to help government contractors and the government to understand the scope of the project, how a change affected one part of the project, and how it could affect other portions of the project, the duration, and critical path of the project.

“Project management and scheduling requires a lot more than a pen and paper,” he says during the interview. “Certainly, this has been true in recent times, you’ve got very big contracts, and you’ve got huge change events in the world, like the COVID-19 pandemic. So one of the things that contractors do is they use robust scheduling software to track each individual item of work, how long it’s going to take, and its relationship to other items of work.”
