Associate Jessica Martinez was accepted into the 2020 Latina Leadership Academy hosted by the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA). The Academy offers relevant professional development and leadership training aimed at Latina lawyers from all areas of the profession who have been in practice 10 years or less. The curriculum builds off the successful programs on Grit and Growth Mindset and delves into concepts of executive presence, cultivating leadership skills, and what it means to be authentic in organizations where Latinas remain underrepresented at all levels. Leadership Academy attendees will gain insights into the importance of mindfulness and resilience in their daily lives and how mindful practice will increase opportunities for advancement in the workplace. Through interactive presentations, attendees will develop skills to manage difficult conversations, to create opportunities for growth and development, and to effectively navigate stereotypes that create barriers for advancement. The Latina Leadership Academy will take place September 15 during the HNBA’s Annual Meeting.

Ms. Martinez is a member of the firm’s Investigations, Compliance and Defense practice.  In addition to being named a 2020 Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Pathfinder, she is a member of the Associate Board of the Diversity & Inclusion Committee, the Associates Committee and is a member of the firm’s Hispanic Lawyers Forum.
