For more than a century, Jenner & Block has been a leader in promoting equal access to democracy and justice, in courtrooms and in our communities. One the most fundamental tenets of democracy and justice is our right to vote – a right that must be protected, promoted, and practiced. And, as part of our firm’s continuing commitment to fostering social justice, we want to encourage all of our people to exercise their right to vote.

In recognition, Jenner & Block is offering all personnel who participate in US elections an optional personal day on Tuesday, November 3.

Where it is safe to do so, some of our personnel may also be planning to serve as Election Day volunteers, and with this personal day we want to support their civic engagement and dedication to ensuring all voters have a voice in our democratic process.

Earlier this year, we publicly shared a statement on our commitment to diversity and inclusion and social justice—in many respects, the change we call for may start at the ballot box. This is why Jenner & Block is committed to giving our people the time and opportunity to participate in this defining foundation of democracy.

The firm has also applied to participate in Time to Vote, a diverse, non-partisan coalition of companies that have made a commitment to ensure their employees have a work schedule that allows them to vote in elections.
