Hispanic Executive magazine featured Jenner & Block Executive Director and COO Meredith W. Mendes among its list of prominent Latino figures in today’s corporate boardrooms. The publication partnered with the Latino Corporate Directors Association (LCDA) for its “Best of the Boardroom” series to highlight the progress of diversity and inclusion of the “influential Hispanic market.”
In her profile, Meredith, a new member of LCDA, details how her versatile background in industry as head of finance, operations, real estate and legal led her to becoming executive director and COO of the firm. “I have deep knowledge of managing the business of professional service organizations and the trends impacting them,” she said. “My financial and operations experience in law, investment banking, commercial real estate, manufacturing and professional services helps me solve problems in an agile, interdisciplinary way.” A member of various community organization boards, Meredith shares that one of the lessons she’s learned is to get involved in outside organizations. Additionally, she provides advice to Hispanic executives aspiring to corporate board positions: “You have to do your homework, and you have to be prepared. But you also have to be selfless and thinking about what you can do that will make a broader impact and help other people.”
