August 26, 2011

On August 25, 2011, Jenner & Block attorneys volunteered their time at the Center on Halsted, providing advice and assistance to persons seeking to have their criminal records expunged or sealed.  The Jenner volunteers worked with volunteer attorneys with the Cabrini Green Legal Aid Clinic, and representatives of Cook County Clerk Dorothy Brown provided direct computer access to criminal record information.  Dorothy Brown personally attended the event as well.  The Center on Halsted, a pro bono client of Jenner & Block, is a Chicago organization serving the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community.  In addition to advising persons about their eligibility for expungement or sealing, the volunteers also aided persons with the preparation and submission of the necessary court petitions, which were accepted on site by the Clerk’s Office staff.

Firm attorneys who participated in the event included Partners John R. Storino and Gabriel A. Fuentes; Associates John M. Power, Daniel A. Johnson and Staff Attorney Joseph P. Weber.
