Jenner & Block Partner Michael A. Scodro, who clerked for former Justice Sandra Day O'Connor from 1998 to 1999, discussed the legacy of the late Justice Antonin Scalia in a segment on Chicago Tonight.  Mr. Scodro recalled once sharing an anchovy pizza with Justice Scalia and the justice’s sometimes “vigorous” dissents to Justice O’Connor.  He also recalled Justice Scalia’s reputation for steadfast beliefs.  Amicus briefs from linguistic experts and historians from the framing era show the extent to which the justice’s focus on text and original intent has taken hold, Mr. Scodro said.  The segment, “Former Supreme Court Clerks Remember Justice Antonin Scalia,” aired on February 15, 2016.  Mr. Scodro is the former solicitor general of Illinois who joined the firm in 2014.  He has argued cases before the United States Supreme Court, Illinois Supreme Court, Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and all five districts of the Illinois Appellate Court.
