Jenner & Block Partner Lindsay C. Harrison has been selected by Law360 as a "Rising Star" in the Hospitality practice area.  Lindsay is one of only four attorneys chosen nationwide for this recognition.

Describing the "Rising Stars" as “attorneys under 40 whose legal accomplishments belie their age,” Law360 profiled Lindsay on May 14, 2014, highlighting her work for Marriott and Ritz-Carlton.

In particular, the article focused on the dispute between Marriott and hotel owner M Waikiki LLC over management of the Waikiki Edition Hotel, which led to the owner’s “midnight raid” at the hotel in 2011 in an effort to force Marriott out.  Lindsay was a key member of the team that won a TRO, and, ultimately, a settlement that was very favorable to the firm’s client.

The publication also noted that Lindsay is helping lead a team representing Ritz-Carlton (and Marriott, its parent company) in pending litigation against the owner of the former Ritz-Carlton Palm Beach.  So far, Lindsay and the team, which is led by Partner David A. Handzo, have defeated all of the owner’s tort claims; a trial on Ritz-Carlton’s counterclaim for breach of contract is expected to begin in November.
