Jenner & Block LLP is pleased to announce that Robert S. Osborne, a former partner of the firm who has served as general counsel of Lands’ End, General Motors and Booz Allen Hamilton, has rejoined the firm as of counsel in its Washington, D.C., office.  Mr. Osborne will focus on pro bono legal transactions and counseling involving not-for-profit entities.

“We are pleased to welcome Bob back to the Jenner & Block family,” said Susan C. Levy, Jenner & Block’s managing partner.  “He has made numerous significant contributions to the firm over many years and we are our honored that he will be affiliated with us once again.”

Mr. Osborne joined Jenner & Block in 2002 as chair of the firm’s Corporate Practice.  He left the firm in 2006 to become group vice president and general counsel of General Motors Corporation.  He briefly returned to Jenner & Block after GM emerged from bankruptcy in 2009 and then joined Booz Allen Hamilton, where he led the legal team for the company’s IPO in 2010.  Mr. Osborne retired from his position as executive vice president and general counsel of Booz Allen last month.  He was previously secretary and general counsel of Lands’ End and has also served on the adjunct faculty of the University of Chicago Law School.

“We have worked closely with Bob over the years in serving our clients GM and Booz Allen, and his return to Jenner & Block represents a terrific opportunity,” said Joseph P. Gromacki, chair of Jenner & Block’s firmwide Corporate Practice.  “We are excited to be associated with him once again.”
