Jenner & Block Chairman Anton R. Valukas and Partners David M. Greenwald, John H. Mathias Jr. and Lawrence S. Schaner will be recognized in The International Who’s Who of Commercial Litigators 2013, a directory of 681 of the world’s leading commercial litigators as determined by Who’s Who Legal’s independent research.   They are four of 16 litigators chosen from Illinois.  The International Who’s Who of Commercial Litigators 2013 will be published in September and will also form the “Commercial Litigation” chapter of the 2014 annual compendium volume, The International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers 2014, to be published in March. 

Tony focuses on major civil and white collar criminal litigation, representing individuals and corporations in contested proceedings throughout the nation.  Fortune 500 companies and public entities seek his counsel on matters ranging from government contracts and health care to class actions, ethics violations and internal corporate investigations.  In 2009, he was appointed as the Examiner in the Lehman Brothers Holdings bankruptcy, reputed to be the largest such case in U.S. history.  In 2013, he was recognized by The National Law Journal as one of "The 100 Most Influential Lawyers in America” and by Best Lawyers as “Chicago Bet-the-Company Litigation Lawyer of the Year.” 

David is co-chair of the firm’s Reinsurance Practice and a member of the International Arbitration and Bankruptcy, Workout and Corporate Reorganization, and Complex Commercial Litigation Practices.  He has broad experience in complex commercial litigation and arbitration, including disputes relating to insurance and reinsurance coverage, structured finance, bankruptcy, internal investigations, government contracts and other types of complex disputes.  He is co-author of Testimonial Privileges (West ThomsonReuters 2012), editor of Jenner & Block’s Attorney-Client Privilege Update online resource center and its Protecting Confidential Legal Information handbook, and a frequent speaker on topics relating to privilege, ethics, e-discovery, and insurance and reinsurance.

John is chair of the firm's award-winning Insurance Litigation and Counseling Practice and a member of the Reinsurance, International Arbitration, Complex Commercial Litigation, Class Action, and Labor and Employment practices.  He is a veteran trial lawyer who focuses on complex business litigation, including disputes related to contracts, insurance coverage, employment, class actions, professional liability and intellectual property.  Since 2004, Chambers & Partners USA has named him one of the country’s leading lawyers in insurance law. 

Larry is co-chair of the firm’s International Arbitration Practice and vice-chair of the International Bar Association’s Arbitration Committee  He has broad experience in complex commercial litigation and arbitration.  A sought-after speaker and author, he is the editor of Dispute Resolution International, the journal of the Dispute Resolution Section of the IBA, and of the IBA Arbitration Guide, an introduction to the law and practice of arbitration in more than 40 countries.
