Jenner & Block Partner Andrew H. Bart is featured in Law360’s “Q&A with Jenner & Block’s Andy Bart.”  During the interview, Andy responded to questions about his career and practice areaincluding his most challenging case (Greenfield v. Philles Records, a 15-year-long litigation  in which the state Court of Appeals ultimately confirmed the principle that owners of sound recordings have royalty obligations only to the extent provided in the recording agreement and that no royalties were owed on uses for which no contractual royalty rate was provided); an area of his practice that needs reform (the need to update federal copyright law to keep up with technological changes and protect content owners);  an important case or issue (the interpretation and application of the termination rights provisions in the Copyright Act); and a lesson he learned during his career (the need to be personally responsible for all decisions and product delivered to a client or a court).
