Jenner & Block Partner Barbara S. Steiner has been named a “Woman of Achievement” by the Greater Chicago/Upper Midwest Regional Chapter of the Anti-Defamation League. Ms. Steiner will be honored at an Awards Dinner on Tuesday, April 9.
This is the ADL’s 20th annual event recognizing women who are “outstanding in their field of specialty,” and who “embody the spirit and philosophy of ADL through their efforts to improve communication and understanding among the diverse racial, religious and ethnic communities of Chicago.” Past recipients of the award include Valerie Jarrett, senior adviser to President Obama; Christina Tchen, Chief of Staff to First Lady Michelle Obama; Lynn Martin, former U.S. Secretary of Labor; Andrea Zopp, CEO and President of the Chicago Urban League; and many other leaders and executives of Fortune 100 companies and leading professional service firms. Jenner & Block Managing Partner Susan C. Levy received the award in 2010.
Ms. Steiner is a highly accomplished and respected attorney who began her career at Jenner & Block and has contributed greatly to the Firm’s success. As Co-Chair of the Firm’s Complex Commercial Litigation Practice, member of the Management Committee and founding member of the Women’s Forum, Ms. Steiner has distinguished herself not only in her practice and with her clients, but also as a role model and mentor to countless other attorneys in the Firm and in the community.
Ms. Steiner has been named one of the “Top Business Litigators” by Law & Politics magazine, one of the “Top 50 Female Lawyers in Illinois” by Illinois Super Lawyers, a “Best Lawyer” in commercial litigation and among the “Top 100 Leading Women Lawyers in Illinois,” and “Top 100 Leading Women Business Lawyers in Illinois,” by Leading Lawyers Network. Several years ago, she was featured in Vault’s “View From The Top: Q& A With Legal Women Leaders.”
