Jenner & Block Partner Gail H. Morse will speak at American Bar Association’s Law Practice Management Section workshop titled, “LPM Diversity and Inclusion Workshop: The New Look of Law Practice Management,” to be held July 12-13 at The Drake Hotel in Chicago. The workshop is designed for law firms of all sizes and geographic scope and will provide practical guidelines for helping to determine the effectiveness of a law firm’s diversity efforts. Ms. Morse will be a member of a panel on July 13, addressing the topic, “Best Practices for Promoting LGBT Diversity and Inclusion in the Legal Profession.” The panel will present ways in which law firms, corporate legal departments, law schools, and bar associations can promote inclusion of LGBT persons. The panel will provide resources to guide law firms on ways to implement initiatives that demonstrate their promotion and support of attorney and staff involvement in LGBT organizations, including examples of activities and actions. The panel will also offer resources on how to recruit and retain LGBT legal talent, diversity training, and other opportunities to develop and strengthen LGBT diversity and inclusion in a variety of work environments.
Ms. Morse leads the Firm’s State and Local Tax Practice. She is a member of the Firm’s Marketing and Business Development and Diversity Committees and also serves as Co-Chair of the Firm’s LGBT Forum. Ms. Morse is a member of the Board of Directors for the Illinois Women’s Institute for Leadership and the Board of Directors of Lambda Legal. She is a former Commissioner on the Cook County Commission on Women’s Issues and a former Chair of WILPOWER, the political action committee of the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois.
