“Excess Liability Coverage Issues,” Advisen 2012 Casualty Insights Conference, New York, NY

Jenner & Block Partner Matthew L. Jacobs will speak at the Advisen’s “2012 Casualty Insights Conference,” being held on May 1, 2012 in New York. Mr. Jacobs will speak in a panel discussion titled “Excess Liability Coverage Issues,” which will discuss topics including when is a follow form insurer not bound by the decision of a primary insurer to settle a claim; must a policyholder’s underlying coverage always be exhausted due to actual payment of the policy limit amount before excess coverage is triggered; and does an underlying insurer’s insolvency constitute exhaustion of a policy coverage limit.

Mr. Jacobs is a litigator who handles complex, multi-party insurance coverage matters in state and federal courts. Corporations also seek his counsel on the availability of insurance coverage for a wide variety of claims, ranging from directors and officers liability and mortgage lending practices to business interruption losses, product liability and regulatory investigations and environmental matters.  He also regularly advises Fortune 500 companies in the placement of various types of insurance coverage.
