On December 8, 2011, Partner Joseph P. Gromacki along with Tom Goldblatt, Monomoy Capital Partners, moderated “Battle of the Economic Experts III: The Economy: Are We There Yet? And, Where is There?” a panel discussion held at Jenner & Block’s Chicago office.
This discussion was the third in an ongoing series of discussions focused on the economy. The two previous Battles of the Economic Experts were titled, respectively, “The Age of the Great Uncertainty” and “The Economy: Where Are We? Where Are We Headed?”
The panel included Jack Ablin of Harris Private Bank, Gail MarksJarvis of the Chicago Tribune,
Giulio Martini of AllianceBernstein and Kobus van der Zel of Global Turnarounds Inc. The discussion focused on the modest fits and starts of progress that continue to plague sustained economic recovery. The panelists also touched on the cause and effect of the high unemployment and its strain on the economy. The growing dissatisfaction with governmental response both in the U.S. and abroad was also debated.
Mr. Gromacki is Chair of Jenner & Block’s Corporate Department and Co-Chair of the Firm’s Securities Practice.
