Jenner & Block Partner James H. Feldman addressed a panel on January 30, 2009, comprising the Family Law Study Committee established by the Illinois Legislature through the office of Speaker Michael Madigan. The Family Law Study Committee was created "to study and recommend how the Illinois Marriage and Dissolution of Marriage Act should be amended to improve and update it," according to the Illinois General Assembly's website. Mr. Feldman described name partner Albert E. Jenner's role in authoring the current Illinois Marriage and Dissolution of Marriage Act. Additionally, he discussed Collaborative Law and highlighted recent developments including the drafting of a Uniform Collaborative Law Act by the Uniform Law Commission, recent ABA and state Ethics Opinions, existing state statutes supporting Collaborative Law, and New York's Collaborative Law Center, which is the first court-based Collaborative Law program in the country.

He is a Certified Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and a Fellow of the Collaborative Law Institute of Illinois.
