“Ethics: Attorney-Client Privilege in Relation to the Claims File and Attorneys as Witnesses,” American Conference Institute's 21st National Advanced Forum on Bad Faith Litigation, Orlando, FL

Jenner & Block Partner David M. Kroeger will speak at the American Conference Institute’s 21st National Advanced Forum on Bad Faith Litigation, being held on November 30-December 1, 2010 at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress in Orlando, Florida. Mr. Kroeger will speak in a session titled, “Ethics: Attorney-Client Privilege in Relation to the Claims File and Attorneys as Witnesses.” During the session Mr. Kroeger will discuss topics including the ethical concerns to be aware of when getting involved in the claims handling process; how to properly protect privileged documents; and what attorneys handling the underlying liability claim should do when they become a witness in a bad faith suit.

Mr. Kroeger is a partner in Jenner & Block’s Chicago office.  He is Co-Chair of the Firm's Reinsurance Practice and a member of the Firm’s Litigation Department and International Arbitration, and Insurance Litigation and Counseling Practices. His experience includes a wide range of commercial litigation matters, including contract, insurance coverage, business tort, product liability, negligence, shareholder litigation, securities, fiduciary duty, intellectual property, antitrust and constitutional law.
