Jenner & Block Associate Olivia T. Luk participated in a panel discussion titled “Practical Tips to Prepare You to Succeed in the Legal Profession,” on November 17, 2011, as part of a program presented by the Richard Linn American Inn of Court.  The presentation, which was co-sponsored by the Chicago-Kent College of Law was held at the law school.  Ms. Luk spoke about legal ethics during the program, which featured members of the Linn Inn discussing professionalism, civility and excellence in their practices.  Speakers also answered students’ questions concerning interviewing tips, networking and other practical issues relating to making the transition from law student to lawyer. 

Ms. Luk is an associate in the Firm’s Litigation Department and a member of the Patent Litigation and Counseling and Technology Litigation practices.  In the area of intellectual property rights, she has worked on cases involving patents, trade secrets and copyrights and represented technologies including computer engineering, electrical engineering, metallurgy, nanotechnology, software design, and mechanical engineering.  She has experience with use of procedures before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and also has experience before the International Trade Commission.  Ms. Luk co-founded the Richard Linn American Inn of Court in Chicago and currently serves as its President.
