Firm Partners Gabrielle Sigel and Barry Sullivan participate in the American Bar Association's AIDS Coordinating Committee and AIDS Coordination Project three-day seminar, "HIV/AIDS Law and Practice: From 'Nuts & Bolts' to 'Cutting Edge.'" On Saturday, May 18, Ms. Sigel moderates a session entitled, "HIV Legal Assistance Projects," and Mr. Sullivan moderates the session "Criminal Law & Justice."  Jenner & Block also serves as co-sponsor of the conference, held at Chicago's The John Marshall Law School.
Mr. Sullivan served as the Chair of the Committee, which stands as the core of the ABA's response to the HIV/AIDS pandemic, from its founding in 1987 until 1994, and Ms. Sigel served as Co-Chair from 1998 to 2000.  Composed of representatives from many ABA sections and related entities, the Committee is charged with organizing the ABA's HIV/AIDS-related activities, developing policy recommendations and encouraging new ABA-sponsored HIV/AIDS-related programs.  The Committee continually contributes to the education of legal professionals and furthers a wide range of HIV/AIDS policy initiatives through its support of and participation in HIV/AIDS-related policy programs at federal, state, and local levels.
