Jenner & Block Associate Allison A. Torrence will speak at a John Marshall Law School event on Thursday, November 3, 2011.  As a panelist on the JMLS Environmental Law Society’s “2011 Environmental Law Career Panel,” Ms. Torrence will discuss her career path and share advice for law students and young attorneys who are interested in a practice in environmental law.  The program will take place from 5 to 6 p.m. at the law school.

Ms. Torrence is a member of Jenner & Block’s Environmental and Workplace Health & Safety Law Practice.  She has represented clients in a variety of complex environmental litigation matters, including personal injury toxic tort litigation involving approximately 60 plaintiffs, property damage toxic tort litigation involving more than 100 residences, and representing the City of Chicago in a preliminary injunction hearing in a public nuisance case in connection with the O’Hare Modernization Program.  She also represents policyholders in insurance coverage disputes relating to environmental issues, counsels clients on compliance issues arising under state and federal statutory regulatory schemes, is experienced in workplace health and safety matters, and has considerable experience performing environmental due diligence for complex corporate transactions.
