“Enterprise Risk Management: What, Why and How,” Practising Law Institute Corporate Counsel Institute 2010, New York, NY

Partner Richard F. Ziegler will moderate a panel discussion on “Enterprise Risk Management: What, Why and How” at the Corporate Counsel Institute 2010, a Practising Law Institute event on September 22.  Mr. Ziegler will discuss the choices decision makers face in implementing ERM, and the costs and benefits of ERM.  He will also provide an analysis of the intersection between ERM and compliance.  Mr. Ziegler will be joined by panelists Randy Mehrberg of PSEG Energy Holdings, Michael A. Monts of United Technologies Corp., and Cynthia Schmitt of Pitney Bowes, Inc.

Mr. Ziegler is Managing Partner of the Firm's New York office, co-chair of the Firm's International Arbitration Practice and former co-chair of the Complex Commercial Litigation Practice.  Drawing on his experience as the former Vice-President, Legal Affairs and General Counsel of the 3M Company in St. Paul, Minnesota, Mr. Ziegler is a frequent author and speaker on compliance and governance matters. He has published on the role of the board of directors in corporate compliance programs and wrote the chapter on FCPA compliance programs in a treatise titled Practicing Under the U.S. Anti-Corruption Laws that was published in 2010.
