Jenner & Block Chairman Anton R. Valukas will speak as a panelist at a New York County Lawyers’ Association CLE Institute program titled “The Remaking of Wall Street” on Wednesday, September 15 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. The program is co-sponsored by the NYCLA Futures & Derivatives Committee; The George Washington University School of Law Center for Law, Economics and Finance; and Bloomberg® Law. It will be held at the NYCLA’s landmark building at 14 Vesey Street in lower Manhattan.
As a member of the panel discussing “A Crisis of Our Own Design: What We Can Learn from the Build Up to and Culmination of the Crisis in September 2008,” Mr. Valukas will speak about critical junctures on the path to Lehman’s ruin. On the panel with him will be Floyd Norris, the highly respected chief financial correspondent for The New York Times, and Francine McKenna, a freelance business writer with credits in the Financial Times, Accountancy Age, Accountancy Magazine, and various financial, media, and technology blogs and her own specialized news site about the business of the Big 4 audit firms, re: The Auditors. Moderating the discussion will be the Hon. Elizabeth S. Strong, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the Eastern District of New York.
