On July 9, Partner John J. Molenda and T. C. Fleming, C.P.A, of Duff & Phelps LLC will present two programs “Insight from the Statement of Cash Flows” and “Current Topics in Professional Ethics for Accountants and Attorneys” at a Practising Law Institute web seminar Basics of Accounting for Lawyers 2010: What Every Practicing Lawyer Needs to Know.  In the first program, Dr. Molenda and Mr. Fleming will discuss how to understand and use cash flow statements and will provide an explanation of operating, investing and financing cash flows.  They will also discuss what the cash flow statement, as well as supplemental and certain non-cash information, can reveal about the financial health of a company.  In the second program, Dr. Molenda and Mr. Fleming will provide lawyers with the basics of the ethical requirements governing attorney and accountant collaborations.  They will also discuss areas of ethical risk at the intersection of the accounting and legal profession. The webinar will be available for viewing for one year following the date of presentation.

Dr. Molenda is a member of the Firm’s Litigation Department.  He is also a member of the Firm’s Intellectual Property, Appellate and Supreme Court, and Pharmaceutical, Biotech and Medical Devices Practices. His practice focuses on complex litigation, with a concentration in intellectual property litigation at both the district court and appellate levels.  Dr. Molenda served on the team representing the court-appointed examiner in the Lehman Brothers bankruptcy case, the largest bankruptcy in history.
