Jenner & Block Partner Andrew Weissmann participated in the 2010 Ethics and Compliance Officer Association (ECOA) Sponsoring Partner Forum, held on May 5, 2010- May 7, 2010 at the JW Marriott Grande Lakes in Orlando, Florida.  The Sponsoring Partner Forum is an annual event designed specifically for Sponsoring Partners, the ECOA’s leading organizations. Since 1992, this meeting has been an opportunity for Sponsoring Partners to meet with their peers to discuss the larger business ethics issues.

Mr. Weissmann spoke on May 7 in a session titled, “Triangulating a Global Investigation: An Interactive Hypothetical Scenario.” Mr. Weissmann addressed FCPA issues arising in recent matters brought by US prosecutors and regulators, as well as the parameters of the new U.K. bribery bill. 

Mr. Weissmann is a co-chair of the Firm's White Collar Defense & Investigations Practice.  He is a former Director of the Enron Task Force, Chief of the Criminal Division in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York, and Special Counsel to the Director of the FBI.  An internationally-recognized white collar litigator, Mr. Weissmann’s practice concentrates on internal corporate compliance and investigations, including representation before the Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission and state and local authorities.  He has tried numerous criminal and civil cases, including winning in an auction rate securities case the largest FINRA arbitration award ever. Mr. Weissmann took a leadership role in originating, writing, and editing The Ethics and Compliance Handbook: A Practical Guide for Leading Organizations, a first-of-its-kind resource published by the Ethics and Compliance Officer Association which aims to create an industry-wide standard for ethics and compliance programs.
