Jenner & Block Partner Michael T. Brody, a member of the Board of Governors of the Seventh Circuit Bar Association, is Program Chair of the 59th Annual Seventh Circuit Bar Association Meeting and Judicial Conference of the Seventh Circuit on May 2 - May 4, 2010 at the InterContinental Hotel in Chicago.
Instrumental in assisting Mr. Brody in the planning of the joint conference are Jenner & Block Associates David P. Saunders and Nancy C. Jacobson, Legal Secretary Coordinator Caryn Jo Geisler and Senior Desktop Publisher Karen L. Bulanda.
As part of the conference, Managing Partner Susan C. Levy, Partner Chris C. Gair and Mr. Brody will participate in panel discussions on Monday, May 3. Ms. Levy will discuss “Law Firm Management and Hiring in Challenging Economic Times,” Mr. Gair will be a member of a program on “Electronic Discovery” and Mr. Brody will participate in a “Legal Seminar - Pleading After Iqbal: The Rules, the Courts and the Constitution.”
Retiring Justice John Paul Stevens will give the opening remarks at the Meeting’s Annual Dinner on May 3, and U.S. Solicitor General Elena Kagan is the keynote speaker. Judge Diane P. Wood will also be speaking during the three-day conference.
At the dinner, Jenner & Block Partner Barry Levenstam will be honored as the recipient of the Seventh Circuit Bar Association’s first annual Pro Bono and Public Service Award in recognition of the exemplary and unwavering nature of his more than 30-year long commitment to pro bono service in the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
