Jenner & Block Associate Reena R. Bajowala will speak at the North American South Asian Bar Association’s (NASABA) 8th Annual Convention being held on June 23 – June 26, 2011 at the JW Marriott in Los Angeles, California. Ms. Bajowala will speak in a session titled, “Hot Topics in Employee Classification.” During this session the panel will address recent trends in the law and Department of Labor decisions on the proper classification of employees as exempt or non-exempt from overtime laws and as employees versus contractors. Ms. Bajowala will be discussing the ERISA implications of employee misclassifications and best practices to avoid such errors. Ms. Bajowala served as a Co-Chair for the 5th Annual NASABA Convention and solicited the highest total sponsorships of the convention to date. Ms. Bajowala currently serves as Chair of the NASABA’s Membership Committee.
Ms. Bajowala is an attorney in the Firm's Litigation Department. She is a member of the Complex Commercial Litigation Practice, the ERISA Litigation Practice Group, and the Class Action Practice Group. Ms. Bajowala represents Fortune 500 clients in complex business litigation. She has a wide variety of business litigation experience, including consumer fraud claims, warranty claims, contract disputes, property litigation, SEC investigations, civil RICO, and employment discrimination claims.
