Jenner & Block Partner Andrew Weissmann will participate in the Ethics and Compliance Officer Association’s 2008 Sponsoring Partner Forum, to be held May 7-9 at the Hyatt Gainey Ranch in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Mr. Weissmann will speak on May 7 in a plenary session session seminar entitled, “The Ethics and Compliance Handbook: A Practical Guide from Leading Organizations.”  The conference will mark the publication of the ECOA Handbook on how to establish and maintain an effective corporate compliance program.  Jenner & Block was the sole legal advisor to the project, which involved numerous companies including Alcatel-Lucent; Altria; Bertelsmann; Boeing; CA, Inc.; Central Hudson Gas & Electric; Deloitte LLP; International Paper; Merck & Co., Inc.;  New York Life; Ruder Finn; and Xerox Corporation.  The idea for the Handbook came from Mr. Weissmann, who along with Jenner & Block Associate Matthew W. Alsdorf who will also be at the conference, assisted in editing the Handbook for publication.

Mr. Weissmann, the former Enron Task Force Director and former Chief of the Criminal Division in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York, was recently was selected by a panel of top ethics experts as one of the 100 Most Influential People in Business Ethics by Ethisphere magazine.  An internationally-recognized white collar litigator, Mr. Weissmann’s practice concentrates on internal corporate compliance and investigations, including representation before the Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission and state and local authorities.
