Jenner & Block Chief Financial Officer Patrick J. Bull and Partner William D. Heinz will speak at The American Lawyer and Law Firm Inc.'s "The Law Firm Finance, Profitability and Operations Institute," to be held July 12-13 at The Harvard Club in New York City. 

Mr. Bull, who is also a co-chair of the Forum, will serve as a panelist at a July 12 session entitled, “The Technology Parade – What’s New, What’s Important and What’s Not!” which will discuss law firm technology (hardware and software) and where the marketplace for such products is going.  Topics will include management of firm finances by “tech savvy” CFO’s, benchmarking and business intelligence, among other things. 

Mr. Bull will also serve as a panelist at a July 13 session entitled, “Financial Planning, Budgeting and Reporting Metrics,” which will explore how to implement a Business Intelligence platform, how to align the platform with a law firm’s strategy, and how it can be used to improve other business processes, among other things. 

Mr. Heinz will serve as a panelist at a July 12 session entitled, “Risk in the Modern Law Firm: Understanding Your Firm’s Risk Quotient,” which will explore the principal risk issues faced by today’s law firms, evaluation of potential clients, selection and integration of lateral lawyers, and how to handle increased government oversight.
