"Class Actions: Will Europe Have to Face a US-style Litigation Culture in the Future?" Association Internationale de Droit des Assurances Europe Conference, Hamburg, Germany

Jenner & Block Partner David M. Greenwald will speak at the inaugural AIDA Europe Conference titled, "Insurance & Reinsurance Law in Europe: New Challenges," to be held on May 23 in Hamburg, Germany.

The conference, held in association with the Insurance Committee of the IBA, will look at the issues facing the European insurance and reinsurance markets now and in the future, and how the legal sector can support the industry in preparing to meet the challenges ahead.

Mr. Greenwald will speak on a panel titled, "Class Actions. Will Europe have to face a US-style litigation culture in the future?" Mr. Greenwald will be joined on the panel by Jean Alisse, Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP (Paris); Jorge Angell, L C Rodrigo (Madrid); Louise Jenkins, Allens Arthur Robinson (Melborne); and Jonathan Post, XL Insurance.

Mr. Greenwald is Co-Chair of the Firm's Reinsurance Practice.  He is the co-author of Testimonial Privileges, published by ThomsonWest, which provides an updated and expanded treatment of the broad array of privileges that can impact the various stages of civil and criminal litigation. He is also the Editor of the Firm's Attorney-Client Privilege Update online resource center, which provides regular reports on this legal issue.
