Jenner & Block Partner Carter H. Klein was a speaker at an International Financial Services Association event held June 12, 2008 in New York City.
 
Mr. Klein spoke to letter of credit operations personnel from U.S. based foreign banks and major and other domestic banks in a session titled, “Use of Special Indemnities and Other Protective Measures for Letter of Credit Situations Involving Heightened Risk.”
 
As a member of the Firm's Corporate, Financial Services and Commercial Law Practices, Mr. Klein has developed extensive experience with Article 5 of the Uniform Commercial Code – Letters of Credit. He participated in the drafting process for that article and in the drafting of the International Standby Practices 1998. Mr. Klein is a Liaison for the American Bar Association's UCC Committee to the Permanent Editorial Board of the Uniform Commercial Code and is a member of the Banking Committee of the US Council on International Business.
