Jenner & Block Partner Ronald R. Peterson will speak at an American Conference Institute program entitled, “Creditors’ Summit on Consumer Bankruptcy Reform:  Strategies for Implementing New Policies and Procedures to Increase Recovery,” to be held January 25-26 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Miami, Florida.  Mr. Peterson will moderate a panel session entitled, “Incorporating the Act into Federal and State Bankruptcy Law: What Will Change?” which will address enforcement of the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005, provisions that impact federal and state laws, methods for dealing with varying interpretations of the Act, inconsistencies in the Act and how to utilize the “interim” rules, the Act’s impact on reaffirmation agreements, and how to overcome challenges relating to IRS standards and regional differences.
