September 20, 2007

A select group of senior-level corporate secretaries and in-house counsel will attend Corporate Secretary Magazine's Think Tank for a day of networking and private discussions about some of the most pressing issues affecting them in their professional roles to be held September 20 at Jenner & Block’s Chicago office.

Corporate Secretary Think Tank events provide participants a unique opportunity to share experiences, express ideas and develop, as a community, best practice approaches to critical governance, risk and compliance issues. Topics that have been covered at past Think Tanks include: executive compensation, the changing role and priorities of the corporate secretary, proxies and broker over-voting, managing your time and attorney-client privilege and internal investigations.

Partner Lawrence S. Schaner will be chairing a panel examining the growing tide of class action litigation in Germany and other European jurisdictions.  Mr. Schaner will be joined by Odell Guyton, director of compliance and senior corporate attorney, Microsoft Corporation and Burkard Göpfert, from Gleiss Lutz in Munich, Germany.  Jenner & Block Partners Tobias L. Knapp, John H. Mathias, and Matthew J. Renaud will also be participating in the Think Tank.
