On June 26, 2020, Ambassador David Pressman
and John Negroponte, President Bush’s Director of National Intelligence, will participate in a high-level virtual conversation that will explore whether the United Nations has advanced US interests since 1945 and how the United States should engage with the UN today to most effectively advance US interests. The event is sponsored by the American Jewish Committee, which made history at the UN founding conference in San Francisco in 1945 when it pressed successfully for the incorporation of human rights as one purpose of the UN.
Appointed by President Barack Obama and confirmed by the US Senate, Ambassador Pressman represented the United States on the United Nations Security Council and served as the senior US negotiator on international disputes around the world. Today, he is a member of the firm’s Complex Commercial Litigation and Government Controversies and Public Policy Litigation Practices.
