“The Coming Wave? Navigating Enforcement Risks Associated with the Use of Alternative or Sensitive Data,” TechGC

On February 6, Partners Kali Bracey, Joseph L. Noga, Michael W. Ross, Damon Y. Smith and Kate T. Spelman presented a CLE program at a private event hosted by TechGC in New York.  TechGC is an independent, invitation-only community for general counsels of leading venture capital funds and technology companies.  The program addressed the increasing government scrutiny of companies’ use of alternative or sensitive data to make key decisions, particularly those involving consumer or financial services, with a focus on what general counsel should do to anticipate and protect against inquiries by state and federal agencies.  To facilitate an engaging dialogue, the program began with a short presentation summarizing relevant laws and enforcement activity and was followed by a table-by-table discussion of the issues led by each speaker.
