"Best Practices in Pre-Award Bid Protests,” the National Contract Management Association’s Government Contract Management Symposium

On December 9, Jenner & Block Special Counsel Noah B. Bleicher and Associate Carla J. Weiss  presented at the National Contract Management Association’s Government Contract Management Symposium (GCMS).  Their session focused on the importance of pre-award bid protests in acquisitions, including to clarify solicitation terms and restrictive specifications, level the competitive playing field and ensure agency compliance with competition requirements.  They also explored pre-award bid protest arguments commonly raised at the Government Accountability Office and highlighted the protest grounds that are most likely to succeed or result in prompt corrective action.

The GCMS is a two-day symposium where government and industry contract management leaders convene to discuss hot topics in the profession.  This year’s GCMS is themed “Focus on What Works” in acquisitions and why it is important for the acquisition and contracting community to drastically improve the speed and agility of the acquisition process to advance our national needs in these challenging.
