On October 22, Jenner & Block Partners Wade A. Thomson and David P. Saunders and Associate E.K. McWilliams presented at an Association of Corporate Counsel Nevada Networking CLE event.  The presenters gave an overview on data privacy laws, focusing on a new laws in Nevada and California.  The speakers also addressed the emerging use of cryptocurrency in casinos and discussed FinCEN’s recent comments on the future of gaming and sports betting companies that accept cryptocurrency. 

Mr. Thomson is a member of the Investigations, Compliance and Defense Practice.  He has substantial experience with internal, government and criminal investigations, including in the gaming industry. 

Mr. Saunders is a member of the firm’s Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Practice.  He counsels Fortune 100 companies and small businesses alike on their data privacy and cybersecurity obligations and assists clients with data incident response.

McWilliams is a certified Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Specialist who has published widely on emerging issues related to the Bank Secrecy Act.
