37th Cambridge International Symposium on Economic Crime

Jenner & Block Partner Thomas C. Newkirk will speak at two sessions during the 37th Cambridge International Symposium on Economic Crime.  On September 5, 2019, he will be a panelist in a session titled “How Does Good Governance and Stewardship Assist in Combating Financial Crime?”  On September 6, 2019, he will join a panel titled “The International Dimension.”

The symposium is organized by leading educational and research institutions with involvement of governmental agencies, the judiciary, the professions, compliance bodies and the business world.  It provides a forum to analyse and discuss economic threats facing our world as a result of criminal activity.  The symposium is held at Jesus College at the University of Cambridge.

Mr. Newkirk is co-chair of the Securities Litigation and Enforcement Practice.  Drawing on his 19 years as a senior official with the Securities and Exchange Commission, he represents companies and their leaders in confidential investigations related to such issues as accounting, disclosure, insider trading and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
