On September 12, Associate Katharine R. Ciliberti will moderate the panel “Lawyer Immunities (Liabilities) for Non-Client Tort Cases” at the American Bar Association’s 2019 National Legal Malpractice Conference in San Diego. Panelists will discuss recent immunity doctrines that some states have developed to shield lawyers from various non-client tort claims, like aiding and abetting client frauds or breaches of fiduciary duty. They will explore the authority and arguments for and against such immunities.
Ms. Ciliberti is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Department and a member of the Professional Responsibility Practice. She was recently named an Illinois SuperLawyer “Rising Star” in the area of Professional Liability.
