Franchising and Rights-Of-Way Reform Efforts, Practising Law Institute’s 2019 Broadband and Cable Industry Law

Jenner & Block Partner Howard J. Symons will present at the Practising Law Institute’s 2019 Broadband and Cable Industry Law event.  He will discuss franchising and rights-of-way reforms that the FCC is considering in its rulemaking proceedings, new developments that are taking place at state and local levels, positions that cable industry and local franchising authorities take on these issues and if federal goals trump local rights-of-way authority.  The two day program starts May 13.

Mr. Symons is a partner in the Communications, Internet and Technology Practice.  Before joining the firm in 2017, he served in two high-profile roles at the Federal Communications Commission:  as general counsel from 2016 to 2017 and as vice-chair of the FCC’s Incentive Auction Task Force from 2014 to 2016
